Maria: Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi

[ REPOSTED & EDITED: 10:40 AM 11/27/2024] Ang doktrina ng Inmaculada Concepcion (alalaong-baga'y "kalinis-linisang paglilihi") ay nangangahulugan na ang Mahal na Birheng Maria, "mula't sapul sa paglilihi sa kanya ay pinangalagaan upang di mabahiran ng dungis ng kasalanang-mana alang-alang sa mga kagalingang dulot ni Kristo Jesus na Tagapagligtas ng sangkatauhan" (KPK 523). Nangyari ito "bilang paghahanda sa kanyang misyon na maging ina ng bugtong na Anak ng Diyos ayon sa laman" ( KPK 394). Bagama't isang sinaunang aral na may batayan sa Banal na Kasulatan at sa Banal na Tradisyon, ito'y pormal lamang na naging dogma noong ika-walo ng Disyembre 1854, sa papal bull ni Pope Pius IX na Ineffabilis Deus. Bakit ka Katoliko?

How does man respond to God who reveals himself?
Sustained by divine grace, we respond to God with the obedience of faith, which means the full surrender of ourselves to God and the acceptance of his truth insofar as it is guaranteed by the One who is Truth itself.

Sa dami ng magkakaibang relihiyon sa daigdig, bakit pinili mong maging Katoliko?

Mayroong apat na pangunahi't magkakaugnay na dahilan kung bakit naninindigan ako sa Katolikong relihiyon:

  1. Dahil naniniwala akong mayroong iisang Diyos (monoteismo), alinsunod sa dikta ng katuwiran.
  2. Dahil, sa kabila ng napakaraming magkakaibang relihiyon, mayroon lamang tatlong pandaigdigang relihiyon na maituturing kong totoong monoteista — Judaismo, Cristianismo, at Islam — at magkakaugnay ang kasaysayan ng kanilang pinagmulan.1
  3. Dahil, sa tatlong ito, Cristianismo lamang ang may pasimunong pinaniniwalaang Diyos mismo na nagkatawang-tao at nagtagumpay sa kamatayan (ang Panginoong Jesus),2 at ang naturang pasimuno ay may tahasang atas na gawing alagad niya ang lahat ng bansa hanggang sa wakas ng panahon, kaakibat ang pangakong papatnubayan niyang lagi ang pagsasakatuparan ng naturang atas.3
  4. Dahil, kung tataluntunin ang kasaysayan ng Cristianismo, ang Simbahang Katolika ang maituturing ko na orihinal na Simbahan, at ito'y buong linaw at katapangan niyang ipinahahayag sa daigdig;4 at hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay masusumpungan sa kanya ang kapangyarihan ng kaniyang pasimuno — sa halimbawa ng di-pangkaraniwang kabanalan ng mga kinikilala niyang Santo at Santa, at sa mga kapani-paniwalang himala na nangyari sa bisa ng kanilang pamamagitan.5

Taliwas ito sa iisang Diyos na natatalastas ng katuwiran bilang Unang Sanhi ng sanlibutan — isang Diyos na di nahahati (simple), at lubusang naiiba at di nasasangkapan ng mga bagay na nilikha (aseity).
  2. "We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.   3. "Ipinagkaloob sa akin ang lahat ng kapangyarihan sa langit at sa lupa. Kaya magsihayo kayo at gawin ninyong mga alagad ang lahat ng bansa, binyagan sila sa ngalan ng Ama at ng Anak at ng Espiritu Santo, at turuan silang sumunod sa mga ipinag-utos ko. Tandaan ninyo na ako ay sumasainyo sa lahat ng araw hanggang sa wakas ng daigdig." (Mateo 28:18-20)
  4. "Roman Catholicism itself maintains that the Roman Catholic Church was established by Christ when he gave direction to the Apostle Peter as the head of the church, making him the first pope.... Itinuturing kong kapani-paniwala sapagkat hindi basta inaangkin lang, kundi talagang dumaan sa masusing imbestigasyong teolohikal at siyentipiko — na kalimitang kinasasangkutan pa ng mga di-Katolikong dalubhasa — bago nakarating sa konklusyon na talagang may himalang nangyari sa bisa ng pamamagitan ng isang Santo o Santa.

Mayroon din naman akong mga di-gaanong mahalagang dahilan ng pagkiling ko sa Simbahang Katolika:

  • Dahil buo ang paninindigan ng Simbahang Katolika sa kahalagahan ng buhay ng tao,6 makaaasa ako na kahit sukuan pa ako ng mundo, hindi ako susukuan ng Simbahan. Kahit ano pang mangyari, nakatitiyak ako na laging may tututol sa anumang tangkang pumatay sa akin.
  • Dahil naninindigan ang Simbahang Katolika na ang pagmamahal sa kapwa ay laging kaakibat ng pagmamahal sa Diyos, anupa't di ka maliligtas kung hindi ka nagmamahal,7 nakatitiyak ako na laging may nagmamahal sa akin kahit mistulang tinalikuran na ako ng buong sangkatauhan. Laging may mga tapat na Katoliko na pagmamalasakitan ako nang walang hinihinging kabayaran.
  • Dahil itinuturo ng Simbahang Katolika na ang katuwiran at agham ay hindi salungat sa kanyang pananampalataya,8 maaari akong maging Katoliko nang hindi nagpapakatanga at nagbubulag-bulagan. Siya ay isang relihiyon na maaari mong makausap nang matino.
  • Dahil naniniwala ang Simbahang Katolika sa mga konsepto ng katarungan,9 pangkalahatang ikabubuti,10 kalayaang pangrelihiyon,11 pagtalima sa dikta ng budhi,12 respeto sa pribadong buhay at pag-aari,13 atbp., ang pagiging Katoliko ay hindi nakapeperwisyo sa lipunan ni nakasisira sa aking pansariling kapayapaan ng kalooban.

  4. "Justice toward men disposes one to respect the rights of each and to establish in human relationships the harmony that promotes equity with regard to persons and to the common good." (CCC 1807.b)
  5. "The dignity of the human person requires the pursuit of the common good. Everyone should be concerned to create and support institutions that improve the conditions of human life." (CCC 1926)
  6. "'Nobody may be forced to act against his convictions, nor is anyone to be restrained from acting in accordance with his conscience in religious matters in private or in public, alone or in association with others, within due limits.' This right is based on the very nature of the human person, whose dignity enables him freely to assent to the divine truth which transcends the temporal order. For this reason it 'continues to exist even in those who do not live up to their obligation of seeking the truth and adhering to it.'" (CCC 2106)
  7. "By his reason, man recognizes the voice of God which urges him 'to do what is good and avoid what is evil.' Everyone is obliged to follow this law, which makes itself heard in conscience and is fulfilled in the love of God and of neighbor. Living a moral life bears witness to the dignity of the person."   8. "Everyone should observe an appropriate reserve concerning persons' private lives. Those in charge of communications should maintain a fair balance between the requirements of the common good and respect for individual rights. Interference by the media in the private lives of persons engaged in political or public activity is to be condemned to the extent that it infringes upon their privacy and freedom." (CCC 2492) | "The seventh commandment forbids unjustly taking or keeping the goods of one's neighbor and wronging him in any way with respect to his goods. It commands justice and charity in the care of earthly goods and the fruits of men's labor. For the sake of the common good, it requires respect for the universal destination of goods and respect for the right to private property. Christian life strives to order this world's goods to God and to fraternal charity." (CCC 2401)

Bakit ko itinuturing ang mga ito na di-gaanong mahalaga? Ito'y sapagkat:

  • Sila'y mga katangiang maaari ring masumpungan — sa iba't ibang antas at kadahilanan — kahit sa mga tao o grupo na hindi kumikilala sa iisang monoteistang Diyos o hindi nakikibahagi sa isang tamang ugnayan sa iisang Diyos.14 Matatagpuan din ang mga ito sa mga maling relihiyon, mga sekular na institusyon, at maging sa mga tao o samahang nagpapakilalang ateista.
  • Sila'y mga katangiang bagama't bahagi ng pormal na paninindigan ng Simbahang Katolika ay may mga pagkakataong nababahiran, napalalabo, naaabuso, nababalewala, o nagiging pakitang-tao na lamang, kaya't di laging makapagbibigay ng matibay na motibasyon para maniwala sa Katolisismo.15
